PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a merit of common control specification to a vehicle control system in an early time by reducing changes in control specification of the engine control system in transition to torque demand control for facilitating a design and shortening a time. SOLUTION: A vehicle has an electronic engine control unit (an engine ECU) 46 and an electronic control unit for controlling the stability of the vehicle (VSCECU) 47. The VSCECU 47 requests the engine ECU 46 for torque to achieve the predetermined stability of the vehicle. An existing engine control part 51 of the engine ECU 46 controls parameters related to the torque of a diesel engine in accordance with an engine operated condition to generate torque in the engine. An interface part 52 converts the torque requested by the VSCECU 47 into the engine operated condition for generating the torque in the engine, prior to control by the existing engine control part 51.
