PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide apparatus for the upper section of a sliding door jointly having eyen a function adjusting the sliding state of the sliding door. SOLUTION: In the sliding door opened and closed by rolling sash sheaves installed at a lower end on a rail laid on a sill, a pair of the sash sheaves in which wheels inserted into casings are urged by springs so as to be upwards projected are mounted at both left-right ends of an upper rail for the sliding door while the rail on which the wheels for the sash sheaves are rolled as being brought into contact by the restoring force of the springs in which compressive force can be adjusted is laid on the underside of a head jamb, contact resistance with the rail is adjusted by regulating the restoring force of the springs urging the wheels for the sash sheaves, and force applied in the case of the opening and closing of the sliding door can be adjusted.
