PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce moment produced in a rotating support part 26 and reduce the height in the direction of center line 26a of rotation at the rotating support part 26. SOLUTION: This traversing apparatus for stored object placing table in a storage place is provided with an arm 25 supported by the rotating support part 26 along the reciprocating direction B of a placing table 19 supported to be reciprocated between an entering and outgoing chamber and storage chamber, a driving part 27 for rotating the arm 25, and an interlocking mechanism 28 for converting the rotation of the arm 25 to the reciprocating movement of the placing table 19. A driving part 27 rotated with the arm 25 is provided with not only an electric motor 30 but a transmitting mechanism 31 for transmitting the rotation of an output shaft 32 as the rotation of the arm 25. In a separate position eccentric from the center line 26a of rotation of the arm 25, the center line 32a of rotation of the output shaft 32 is set in a driving part area Q on the opposite side to the arm area P containing the radius line L bordering on the boundary surface H intersecting perpendicularly to the radius line L connecting between the diagonal position (the center line 37a of rotation of a pressure roller 27) of the arm 25 to the interlocking mechanism 28 and the center line 26a of rotation of the arm 25.
