PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small-sized electronic flash device that can provide wide- angle illumination even though an existing linear light emitting tube is used. SOLUTION: As for the electronic flash device provided with a flash light emitting part constituted of the linear light emitting tube having electrodes for emitting flash light at both ends, a reflector for reflecting the flash light emitted from the light emitting tube toward an object and a transmission window for covering the opening part of the reflector and also for transmitting the flash light, at least one of the electrodes of the light emitting tube is arranged outside the reflector.
