PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably form images without giving rise to image defects, such as an electrostatic charge defect and image flow, by controlling discharge current with high accuracy thereby surely obtaining a desired discharge current quantity in impressing the peak-to-peak voltage of electrostatic charge to an image forming device for varying electrostatic charge frequencies in correspondence to plural process speeds. SOLUTION: The peak-to-peak voltage to be impressed to an electrostatic charging member of the image forming device which has the plural process speeds and varies the electrostatic charge frequencies in correspondence to the respective speeds is calculated by measuring the relation between the peak- to-peak voltage of the electrostatic charge and the AC current by using one process speed and the electrostatic charge frequency. |
