<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline chiral agent comprising an optically active compound having large twisting force (twisting angle) of liquid crystal. SOLUTION: This liquid crystalline chiral agent comprises an optically active compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein R1 is a halogen atom, an aryl group, alkynyl group, formyl group, CH=CH-R3, C(R4)=CH2, CH=C(R5)2, wherein R3 and R4 are each an aryl group; R5 is an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group or cyano group; R2 is an alkyl group or an aryl group; binaphthyl part has axial asymmetry of either one of (R) or (S)].</p> |
