PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner, a multibeam scanner and an image forming device by which illuminance distribution is made nearly uniform on a surface to be scanned even in the case of using a scanning optical system having a wide viewing angle and even in the case of rotating the polarization direction of a laser beam emitted from a light source means. SOLUTION: This optical scanner is provided with the light source means 1 emitting the laser beam being linearly polarized light, an incident optical system 11 making the laser beam emitted from the light source means incident on a deflection means 5, and a scanning optical system by which the laser beam deflected by the deflection means is formed into an image on the surface to be scanned 8 through a reflection member 7 reflecting the laser beam in a subscanning direction. In the scanner, the reflection surface of the reflection member is set so that reflectance may be nearly equal in P polarized light and S polarized light and it may be different according to the incident angle of the incident laser beam, whereby the illuminance distribution on the surface to be scanned is made nearly uniform.
