PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high alloy grain cast iron material for a hot rolling roll made by centrifugal casting combining surface roughening resistance and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The high alloy grain cast iron material for a hot rolling roll made by centrifugal casting has a composition, as an external layer material, containing, by mass, 2.7 to 4.0% C, 0.5 to 3.5% Si, 0.2 to 2.0% Mn, 2.5 to 7.0% Ni, 0.5 to 2.5% Cr, 0.2 to 1.0% Mo, 0.001 to 0.50% Co, 0.001 to 0.50% B, 0.001 to 0.50% Al, 0.001 to 0.50% Ti and 0.001 to 0.50% Cu, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
