PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brick work method for an external wall of a building capable of increasing heat insulating as well as the exterior finish and the protection of the external wall by providing a space layer to the outside of the external wall of the building to construct a brick wall. SOLUTION: Bricks 1 having through-holes 2 in the vertical direction are arranged to successively pile them up at positions at predetermined intervals on the outside of a building skeleton 3, the bricks 1 located in the vertical direction having the through-holes 2 passing a reinforcing bar 17 through them and filled with fillers, and the bricks 1 are fixed to the external wall 4 of the building skeleton 3 by twisted wire anchors 10 and 12 every a predetermined height resulted from piling up the bricks to provide the space layer 22 to the outside of the building skeleton 2 to construct the brick wall A.
