PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake resistant structure and an earthquake resistant connector with improved earthquake resistance by visco-elastically connecting vertical parallel members and a diagonal point connecting member. SOLUTION: This earthquake resisting structure 100 has one diagonal point connecting member R1 connecting diagonal points a1, a2 to each other of a quadrangle space U formed by horizontal parallel members P and the vertical parallel members Q. A visco-elastic support member 50 is disposed between the end part e1 of the diagonal point connecting member R1 and an opposite surface f1 of the vertical member Q shifted from the diagonal point a1 by a designated amount L1. The visco-elastic support member 50 has visco-elasticity along the vertical direction and is deterred at upper and lower designated moving limitsΔL. Similarly the visco-elastic support member 50 may be disposed between the other end e2 of the diagonal point connecting member and the vertical parallel members. When providing a diagonal point connecting member connecting the other diagonal points b1, b2 to each other, the similar visco- elastic support member 50 is disposed between the diagonal point connecting member and the vertical parallel members. The visco-elastic support member 50 is provided as an earthquake resisting connector.
