PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and a method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate having excellent color phase with little foreign matter, provided with a piping through which molten reaction mixture passes which is free from residing part thus causing no deterioration of quality in the piping. SOLUTION: This production facility for continuous melt polycondensation of an aromatic polycarbonate has a transporting piping connecting with adjacent treatment facility where the total of flow inhibiting intensities of flow inhibiting factors selected from valves, bends and detecting terminals in the piping is below a determined value (where the flow inhibiting intensity is 1/piece for a valve and a bend, and 0.5/piece for a detecting terminal). The method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate utilizes such a production facility equipped with the piping.
