PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an artificial charcoal capable of providing the large benefit to both of society and economy by utilizing an organic material and an environmentally polluting material which become industrial wastes by a conventional proposal method, and mixing and binding the materials with a stone powder capable of radiating far infrared rays and generating a minus ion. SOLUTION: This artificial charcoal is obtained by mixing and binding finely pulverized various kinds of the combustible industrial wastes and environmentally polluting materials such as wood chips, sawdust, brewers grain, Shochu (white distilled liquor) lees, chaff, soybean curd refuse, coffee grounds, oil cake, waste of paper-reclaiming, and various kinds of vegetable fibers, with one kind of fine powders of quartz porphyry, granite porphyry, tourmaline and the like, or a mixed power of an arbitrary combination thereof, and an optional binder, and subjecting the resultant product to a carbonizing and heating processing to solidify the product having an arbitrary size.
