PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording head and an ink-jet recorder in which a diaphragm is prevented from being broken by driving a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording head includes pressure generation chambers 12 communicating with nozzle openings, and piezoelectric elements 300 each comprising a lower electrode 60, a piezoelectric layer 70 and an upper electrode 80 set via the diaphragm to a region corresponding to the pressure generation chamber 12. To the region corresponding to the pressure generation chamber 12, the piezoelectric element 300 is provided with a piezoelectric active part 320 which becomes an essential driving part, and piezoelectric non active parts 330 which are formed to both end parts in a longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric element 300 by removing the lower electrode 60 and which are not essentially driven although including the piezoelectric layer 70 continuous from the piezoelectric active part 320. An electrode wiring is extended onto a peripheral wall from the upper electrode 80. Moreover, the diaphragm at regions opposite to at least corners at both sides in the longitudinal direction of the pressure generation chamber 12 are covered with an electrode layer 100 equal to a conductive layer constituting the electrode wiring 90, so that the diaphragm has the rigidity improved.
