SOLUTION: In the method for producing titanium in which discoloration hardly occurs in the atmospheric environment, water vapor treatment in which its surface is exposed to water vapor of 100 to 550 deg.C for 10 sec to 60 min for one or more times, The water vapor treatment is performed preferably in the final stage of the production process.
