METHOD OF REPRODUCING AUDIO SIGNAL NOT TO CAUSE CHANGE OF TONE COLOR IN SPEED CHANGE PLAY MODE AND REPRODUCTION DEVICE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method of reproducing an audio signal is provided to process audio data to maintain a tone color of a reproduced sound at the same speed as a normal speed reproducing at changed presentation time intervals, even in a high speed reproducing or a low speed reproducing mode, thereby simultaneously reproducing the audio data and video data. CONSTITUTION: A reproduction device performs a time scale modification for audio data, and increases and decreases data amounts of the audio data by corresponding to a high and low speed of an indicated reproduction speed. The reproduction device performs a down-sampling process or an up-sampling process according to the high and low speed of the reproduction speed, and recovers the data amounts of the audio data to data amounts of decoded audio data. The reproduction device newly calculates presentation time intervals of the audio data by corresponding to the high and low speed of the indicated reproduction speed, whenever a change of the reproduction speed is indicated.
