SOLUTION: In this treating method for a specimen, especially a cytological or histological specimen or the like, by for example, an automatic coloring device, a specimen housed preferably on a specimen carrier or, furthermore, in a specimen carrier magazine is transferred to various treatment stations by a transfer device, the specimen is loaded in the treatment stations, and treatments are performed in accordance with a pre-settable treatment program.
