摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of the durability and the impairing of the starting performance of a continuously variable transmission by properly controlling a ratio even when an electronic control system of the continuously variable transmission is failed in a continuously variable transmitting device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: An engine E is connected to a sun gear of a planetary gear mechanism P through a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission T, a driving wheel W is connected to a ring gear of the planetary gear mechanism P, and the sun gear and the ring gear are connected by a first clutch C1. A shifter S can connect a second clutch C2 connected to the engine E to a carrier of the planetary gear mechanism P or the driving wheel W. When the vehicle is advanced and started in failure, the connecting force of the first clutch C1 is controlled on the basis of the engine speed and the ratio, and the connecting force of the second clutch C2 is controlled on the basis of the engine speed under a condition that the second clutch C2 is connected to the carrier by the shifter S, whereby the ratio of the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission T is deviated from a LOW ratio and OD ratio, and the over load can be prevented.
