PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hydrogen storage alloy having a means of controlling plateau pressure without changing alloy composition. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy Ti37Cr48V15 prepared by an arc melting method is subjected once to the absorption and release of hydrogen at 40 deg.C, dehydrogenated by means of a rotary pump, and then heat-treated under the presence of residual hydrogen at 300 deg.C for 30 min (example 1). As a result, plateau pressure can be improved as compared with that of a comparative example 1 which is free from heat treatment.
