PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container whose end cap or end closure is entirely formed of a packaging material itself. SOLUTION: The packaging container is formed with an integral end closure and comprises a preformed, rigid base unit of a U-shaped cross-section having a bottom wall and opposite sidewalls and a preformed, rigid cover unit of a U-shaped cross section having an upper wall and opposite sidewalls. The cover unit is configured so that its sidewalls fit within and are embraced by the sidewalls of the base unit when assembled as a container.
