FERRULE FOR MULTI-FIBER OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule for multi-fiber optical connectors that is hardly deformed. SOLUTION: The front end surface of a ferrule 1 is used as a connecting surface 4, and a plurality of optical fiber holes 2 for positioning optical fibers are formed so that the holes are open to the connecting surface. Next to each optical fiber hole 2, a hole for inserting a covered part 7 and a semicirclular groove part 8 are formed, and a hole for inserting a covered optical fiber 10 opens to the rear part. A window hole 9 is also arranged. The optical fiber is inserted into the ferrule and fixed with the adhesive thereafter. Although deformation arises in the ferrule in the contraction during curing of the adhesive, the deformation can be suppressed by forming a joist crossing the window hole 9.
