PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-load adjusting mechanism for a bearing used to adjust an axial force applied on the rolling bearing and allowing a user to adjust an axial force applied on the bearing in accordance with a rotation speed of a main shaft. SOLUTION: The pre-load adjusting mechanism for the bearing used to adjust an axial force applied on the rolling bearing is provided. This pre-load adjusting mechanism has a first fixed member 5, an adjusting device 1 provided for the first fixed member 5 and allowing the user to apply a torque, and a first face 2 connected with the adjusting device 1, is provided with an annular plate 6 moving in accordance with a torque from the adjusting device 1 and a first end part connected with a second face 12 of the annular plate 6, and includes an elastic member applying a pressure to the annular plate 6 to generate the spring and a movable annular element 3 connected with a second end part of the elastic member to transmit the spring and generate an axial force in the bearing 4 in accordance with the movement of the annular plate 6.
