PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce and stabilize induced thrust and sliding resistance of a tripod type constant velocity universal joint. SOLUTION: In this constant velocity universal joint in which an outside joint member 10 forming three track grooves 12 having roller guide surfaces 14 arranged by facing each other in a circumferential direction, a tripod member 20 provided with three leg shafts 22 projected in a radial direction, rollers 34 inserted into the track grooves 12 and a ring 32 for rotatably supporting the rollers 34 by externally inserting into the left shafts 22 are provided, and the rollers 34 are movable in a shaft direction of the outside joint member 10 along the roller guide surfaces 14, an outer peripheral shape of the leg shaft 22 is formed into a straight shape parallel to an axis of the leg shaft 22 in longitudinal section and the ring 32 can be oscillated for the leg shaft 22.
