PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reduce the variation of the pressure caused by the reciprocation of a piston and to prevent the bad influence on the oil such as the turbulence of an oil level and the scattering of the oil in an oil pan. SOLUTION: Plural cylinders reciprocatably storing pistons are arranged in series in a cylinder block of an engine, a crankshaft is supported on the cylinder block, partitions are provided for partitioning the plural cylinders at axial both sides of the crankshaft, the partitions are provided with vent holes penetrated through the axial direction of the crankshaft for communicating the cylinders adjacent to each other, and the vent holes are formed on the partitions in a condition that they are deflected to an intake side to the cylinder axis so that the engine is separated from the oil level in a start that the engine is loaded on a vehicle while downwardly inclined at its exhaust side.
