METHOD FOR CALCULATING WIDTH OF CRACK IN HIGH-PRESSURE GAS STORAGE FACILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate the width of a design crack expected to occur in backfilling material. SOLUTION: This method includes calculating strains at each part of backfilling concrete when a high-pressure gas is stored in a reservoir at a predetermined storage pressure (step S1) and integrating the strains in the direction along the outer periphery of the reservoir while using as integration intervals the intervals L1 or L2 of cracks expected to occur in the backfilling concrete, to thereby calculate the width wi of the design crack expected to occur in the backfilling concrete (step SA5, SA6 and SA7 or step SB4).
