A device for information input and/or output is proposed that serves for use in one of the areas of efficiency, physical access control, security technology or building installation practice. The device can be configured for use in each of these areas. The device of the invention is embodied in such a way that it fits into a frame (5) that is suitable for recessed and surface-mounted sockets. The device of the invention has a communications module that establishes the connection with a communications network. The communication between the communications module and the communications network is either hard-wired or wireless. The device of the invention has a touch-sensitive layer (1) as part of the display, so that the display also functions as an input device. The operator control elements on the display are reprogrammed at predetermined intervals. In further refinements, the device has a fingerprint sensor and a card reader. |
