PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing supervisory control in an ATM-PON(Asynchronous Transfer Mode-Passive Optical Network) OLT system is provided to process a supervisory control function in real time and be inexpensive in an embodying cost. CONSTITUTION: A network-side control unit(400) controls a network-side line card unit for connecting to a network side and performing an ATM process. A subscriber-side control unit(300) controls a subscriber-side line card unit for connecting to an ONU(Optical Network Unit) and performing the ATM process. An operation management unit connects to the network-side control unit(400) and the subscriber-side control unit(300) and manages an ATM-PON OLT system. The network-side control unit(400) and the subscriber-side control unit(300) includes a hardware processing unit(910), a fault processing unit(920), a performance processing unit(930), and a shape processing unit(940) for performing a supervisory control function for controlling the network-side line card unit and the subscriber-side line card unit.
