PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the releasability of a hydrophilic binder layer in a plate making method in which a means of pressing a planographic printing plate after development on a release sheet, releasing the hydrophilic binder layer and transferring it to the top of a transfer sheet is applied. SOLUTION: In the plate making method in which a planographic printing plate having a silver halide emulsion layer on an anodically oxidized aluminum base and utilizing a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process is developed and mechanically pressed on a release sheet and a hydrophilic binder layer is released and transferred to the top of a transfer sheet, inorganic fine particles having <=100 nm average particle diameter are contained in the silver halide emulsion layer and/or a protective layer.
