PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device permitting display independently of the main body even when there is no data transfer or no control signal from the main body of electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device having drivers 4 connected to electrodes is provided with a system control means 8 receiving a control signal, and a clock source 6 for operating a liquid crystal display connected to the system control means 8, and when the control signal is inputted to the system control means 8, the driver 4 receives the control signal inputted to the system control means 8, and when the control signal is not inputted to the system control means 8, the driver 4 receives a control signal created by the system control means 8 operated by the clock source 6.
