PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium oxide-containing UV shielding filter material having improved dispersibility and age stability and to provide a color diffusion transfer film unit parted by peeling, using the UV shielding filter material and having improved stain, light resistance and physical properties of the films. SOLUTION: The UV shielding filter material contains fine particulate titanium oxide surface-treated with 1-30 mass% aluminum oxide and/or silicon dioxide based on the amount of the titanium oxide and having 1-45 nm average primary particle diameter or average primary minor axis size and a polyhydric alcohol. The color diffusion transfer photographic film unit uses the UV shielding filter material in a UV shielding layer.
