PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily determining a production origin and a cultivation method of a dried shiitake mushroom. SOLUTION: As to items selected from physical characteristics before/after moistening the dried shiitake mushroom, their change rates before/after moistening, and contents of elements, measurement values X1, X2, X3-Xn are obtained, and these measurement values are substituted into a discriminant function expression Z=AX1+BX2+CX3...+NXn+Y. In this expression, A, B, C-N represent coefficients individually matching the respective selected items, and Y represents a constant. The production origin and/or the cultivation method of the dried shiitake mushroom and/is determined according whether the value of Z is large or small.
