PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable body detecting device of a simple structure capable of maintaining high sealing performance even in adverse environments which cause thermal strains in a resin. SOLUTION: In the movable body detecting device 10, a signal converting element 32 is held in the inner surface of the bottom wall 13 of a tubular insulating holder 11 with a bottom, and a signal wire 36 connected to the signal converting element 32 is lead out to the outside from the opening end of the insulating holder 11. The circumference of the opening face of the insulating holder 11 is covered with a relatively soft grommet member 25 water-tightly surrounding the signal wire 36. A lid member 21 sandwiches the grommet member 25 from above to lid the opening face in the movable body detecting device.
