PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction pad and a manufacturing method therefor, capa ble of stabilizing frictional material quality by preheating a pressure plate, and reducing manufacturing cost by shortening heat press time and improving yield. SOLUTION: In this friction pad constituted by bonding the frictional material to the pressure plate, partly crosslinking type novolak phenol resin is used as an adhesive. The manufacturing method for frictional pad includes placing a pre-formed body of the frictional material on the adhesive for thermoforming work after preheating the pressure plate applied with the adhesive, wherein partly crosslinking type novolak phenol resin is applied to the pressure plate as the adhesive, and preheated to a temperature near to thermoforming.
