PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reinforcing the surface of an artistic building which can reinforce even a fragile complex curved surface with a thin film of reinforcing fibers by using the flexible fine reinforcing short fibers effectively. SOLUTION: In the method, a coating agent 3 is prepared by kneading the flexible fine reinforcing short fibers 4 with a mixing solution, the coating agent 3 is applied uniformly on the surface 2 of the building 1, the mixing solution is made a powder liquid of the same quality with that of a building main body, a synthetic resin adhesive, or the combination of them, and aramid fibers are used as the reinforcing fibers.
