PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gap adjuster in which a cover member can be fixed easily to the recorder body at a low cost even if a knob projecting from the cover member constituting the external view of the recorder is present in a lever member, i.e., the operating part of the gap adjuster. SOLUTION: The lever member 5, i.e., the operating part of the gap adjuster, is disposed rotatably about the center of rotation 5a, and the PG is adjusted through rotation thereof. A knob 6 for rotating the lever member 5 is provided to project from the body cover 1 of the recorder. Lower section of the knob 6 is resiliently deforming section 18 which deforms resiliently to oscillate the knob 6 in the direction orthogonal to the rotational direction of the lever member 5. At the time of fixing the body cover 1, the knob 6 can be retracted to the inside of the body cover 1 and the body cover 1 can be fixed easily to the recorder body.
