PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove solid matters from the vicinity of a nozzle opening forming face. SOLUTION: A plurality of filaments 22 of resilient material having forward end of such size as can enter the nozzle opening N are arranged in a nonprint area movably relative to a recording head under such a state as can be pressed by a nozzle plate N to deform resiliently. A protrusion is advanced on the inner surface of the nozzle opening N and solid matters, e.g. pigments G, in the vicinity are removed by an external force.
