PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can be mounted/dismounted without causing any dripping of liquid and exhibiting a high liquid containing efficiency and excellent handling performance. SOLUTION: An ink tank unit 200 comprises an ink container 201 having an inner bag 220 containing ink being fed to a recording head, a joint port 230 for supplying ink to the recording head when the joint pipe thereof is inserted, and a member 255 for absorbing ink adhering to the joint port 230 into a space different from the inner bag 220. The ink reabsorbing member 255 has an ink absorbing region 255a adjacent to the joint port 230, and a region 255b for storing ink absorbed into the ink absorbing region 255a. Capillary force of the ink storage region 255b is higher than that of the ink absorbing region 255a.
