PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the quality of a recorded image from deteriorating by increasing the evaporation rate of waste ink in an absorber to prolong the time elapsing before the absorber is saturated and decreasing the number of times of replacing the absorber, thereby suppressing diffusion of ink mist into the recorder and preventing contamination thereof. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises an absorber 13 for absorbing and holding waste ink, a tube 11 for introducing the waste ink to the absorber, and a suction fan 15 for sucking a recording sheet 1 to a platen 8 wherein an air flow produced by the suction fan is directed to the vicinity 13a of waste ink introducing part of the absorber 13. |
