摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image conversion panel where the light- condensing efficiency for stimulable luminescent light is improved and a method of reading radiation image information which is high-speed and highly sensitive and makes it possible to obtain radiation images of high picture quality. SOLUTION: This radiation image conversion panel has a phosphor layer formed on a support by a gas phase laying-up method and is characterized in that the phosphor layer consists of column crystals of phosphors which are oriented unidirectionally and the one ends of individual columnar crystals are shaped convexly. This method for reading radiation image information is characterized in that the panel is irradiated with excitation light in a direction approximately parallel to the orientational direction of the columnar crystals of the phosphors of the panel and a line sensor is located on the side of the convex ends approximately on an extension line of the orientational direction to receive the stimulable luminescent light.
