PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent excavated matter such as sediment from making contact with a bucket cylinder or the like via an opening in the end of an arm by providing a cover member at the opening. SOLUTION: The cover member 34 for cover the opening 24 which opens between right and left bucket mounting parts 13A from excavated matter such as sediment or the like excavated by means of a bucket 14 is provided at the lower plate 21 of an arm 13 and a flexible plate 38 which is deflected upon abutting against the bracket 14C of the bucket 14 is mounted on the fixed plate 35 of the cover member. Thus, during the operation of excavating sediment and the like, the excavated matter in the bucket 14 is prevented from making contact with components such as bucket links 15 and 16, the bucket cylinder 19, and connecting pins 26 and 27 via the opening 24 of the arm 13 to protect these sliding parts for enhanced durability and reliability.
