PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install a breastboard even when soil cement is injected to an upper rim of a wide flange beam. SOLUTION: In this soldier pile and breastboard installing method, pile holes are excavated at predetermined intervals, the soil cement is injected in each pile hole, wide flange beams are inserted inside the soil cement of each pile hole in a predetermined orientation so that grooves in adjacent pile holes face each other to form soldier piles 24, one side of a row of the soldier piles is dug and breast boards 2 are sequentially installed so as to extend between the grooves of the wide flange beams 1 facing each other to retain the earth of another side. It includes a process of attaching elongated cylindrical bags 3 formed of an airtight or a watertight material to the wide flange beams before they are inserted in the pile holes along predetermined breastboard end part installing positions in groove inner sides, a process of inserting the bags and the wide flange beams in soil cement 4 of each pile hole, and a process of feeding liquid or fluid inside the bags before solidification of the soil cement and inflating the bags. The bags are made of synthetic resin film and clips or an adhesive is used as a bag attaching means.
