METHOD OF DISPLAYING HELP COMMENTS OF OSD MENU ITEMS IN DIGITAL TELEVISION RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A method of displaying help comments of OSD menu items in a digital television receiver is provided to display the contents of a desired help comment without hiding a program image being displayed. CONSTITUTION: When a user pushes an OSD button, an OSD menu region is displayed on at least a part of the program image being displayed. The user pushes cursor movement buttons to point a cursor at one of items of the OSD menu region. The user pushes a "help" button to display the contents of help comment of the item pointed by the cursor on at least a part of the program image being displayed. When the user releases the "help" button, the contents of the help comment of the item pointed by the cursor disappears and only the OSD menu region remains on the screen.
