PURPOSE: A variable steering system for a vehicle is provided to obtain the steering angle of front wheels to the utmost and to reduce radius of gyration of a vehicle with using the surplus space of the wheelhouse. CONSTITUTION: A variable steering system for a vehicle is equipped with a sun gear(12) installed to a steering shaft, plural planetary gears(15) having outer gearing with the sun gear, a ring gear(16) having inner gearing with the planetary gears, a carrier(13) supporting the planetary gears and forming a protrusion(14) to a side, a stopper(17) selectively contacted with the protrusion and controlling the movement of the carrier, and a driving unit(20) moving the stopper back and forth. The steering angle of the front wheels is obtained to the utmost and the radius of gyration of the vehicle is reduced by making the rotation of a steering shaft variably controlled depending on the installing of a chain.
