PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive cold-rolled steel sheet for the magnetic shield of color cathode ray tube which has excellent geomagnetic shielding properties effective for suppressing color slippage caused by geomagnetism and obtaining a picture with high definition, and is capable of dealing with the effective utilization of resources, and its production method. SOLUTION: The cold-rolled steel sheet for a magnetic shield of color cathode ray tube has a sheet thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 mm, and has a composition containing, by weight, <=0.06% C, <=1% Si, 0.1 to 2% Mn, <=0.1% P, <=0.02% S, 0.001 to 1% sol.Al, <=0.006% N, <=0.01% Ti, <=0.01% V, <=0.01% Nb, 0.005 to 0.5% Cu, 0.001 to 0.3% Sn, 0.005 to 2% Ni, 0.004 to 0.2% Cr and <=0.3% Mo, and the balance substantially Fe, and in which the relation of Al2O3/(Al2 O3+CaO+MnO+SiO2)>=0.1 is satisfied. Its non-hysteresis permeability is >=7,500. |
