<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for can production which can form a coating film excellent in dent resistance and is excellent in the combination of coating workability, corrosion resistance, adhesivity processibility, and hygienic characteristics; and a coated metal sheet for can production prepared by applying the coating material to can production. SOLUTION: This coating material comprises (A) 90-60 wt.% polyester resin which is formed from an acid component comprising 75-100 mol% terephthalic acid and 0-25 mol% other polycarboxylic acid, an alcohol component comprising 50-90 mol% branched glycol, 10-50 mol% 1,4-butanediol, and 0-30 mol% other glycol, and an at least trifunctional polycarboxyic acid and/or polyalcohol component in an amount of 0.01-3 mol% based on the sum of the acid and alcohol components and which has a number average mol.wt. (Mn) of 10,000-30,000, a glass transition point (Tg) of 50 deg.C or higher, and an acid value (mgKOH/g) of 4.0 or lower and (B) 10-40 wt.% thermosetting resin which is a mixture of a benzoguanamine resin as the major component and a melamine resin.</p> |
