PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of shift control in an automatic transmission for a vehicle capable of realizing the proper upward and downward shift on the basis of the altitude when the vehicle with the automatic transmission travels in highland. SOLUTION: In this shift control method including an atmospheric pressure detecting stage for detecting the atmospheric pressure, an atmospheric air reflection judging stage for judging whether the atmospheric pressure reflection condition is satisfied or not, and a variable value determining stage for setting a variable value of a control variable on the basis of the detected atmospheric air when the atmospheric air reflection condition is satisfied, the variable value of the shift control variable is determined on the basis of the detected atmospheric pressure when the atmospheric pressure is detected and the reflection of the atmospheric pressure is judged, and the shift is controlled on the basis of the determined variable. |
