PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an industrially useful new optically-active amino acid derivative, and further to provide a method for producing the derivative. SOLUTION: The amino acid derivative is the compound represented by formula (1), and concretely exemplified by an ethyl ester of N-tert- butoxycarbonyl-N,O-bis(methoxymethyl)-α-methyltyrosine, and the compound represented by formula (3). The production method comprises, concretely, using, for example, ethyl (2S)-2-(N-tert-butoxycarbonyl-N-methoxymethylamino)-3-(4- methoxymethoxyphenyl)propionate as a raw material, and stereoselectively alkylating theα-position of the raw material. |
