METHOD FOR DETERMINING FEATURE OF PARTICLE IN COLLOIDAL SUSPENSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the feature of particles in a colloidal suspension while the particles are settling. SOLUTION: The method includes the step of measuring changes in strength between interference patterns produced by combining partially coherent first and second radiation portions while the particles are settling. The first and second partially coherent radiations are derived from the same source; the first portion permeates a portion of the suspension while the second portion permeates a reference path.
