PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide performance parameters to be used for trending the operation of an engine or engine condition estimated values for easily improving the estimation of virtual sensors. SOLUTION: A modeled trending process (10) for a gas turbine engine (14) is explained for evaluating engine conditions by generating engine trend parameters at a real time from engine sensor data and ambient flight condition data (78). The engine includes a plurality of sensors responsive to the operation of the engine. The trending process is carried out using a marketable processor connected directly to the engine for monitoring the operation of the engine and having desired processing speed and capacity.
