PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a defective substrate by detecting the defective application of an alignment layer in flexographic printing at an early stage. SOLUTION: A line CCD 85 picks up images of the surface of a plate 83. A piked-up image is processed in an image processing part 95 to detect foreign matters on the plate 83. The image processing part 95 provides information on the position where the foreign matters are detected to a position calculation part 97. The rotational position calculation part 94 of the plate provides information on the rotational position of a plate drum 81 to the position calculation part 97, and the position calculation part 97 calculates the position of the foreign matters on the plate 83. A control circuit 96 moves a nozzle 87, rotates the plate drum 81, places the foreign matters under the nozzle 87, and controls a nozzle jet control part 92 to eject air or coating liquid for removing the foreign matters. |
