PURPOSE: A method for automatically providing customized information based on web sites classified by television program genres is provided to supply customized information by classifying television programs according to genre, and by automatically linking on-line contents, on-line service and off-line service businesses. CONSTITUTION: A user clicks a web helper of a recording/reproducing device and moves a web site classified into on-line and off-line based on a television program genre classification table(201). The user is linked to a part in which related services or contents businesses are classified and reviewed(202). The user clicks an interesting web site and moves to the site. After that, the user watches interesting services and contents and returns to broadcasting through a television monitor(203). In case that the user needs information or services while watching the television monitor, the user can obtain customized information through a web(204).
